Purpose: Opportunity Austin and Circuit of the Americas invite high school seniors to participate in our 2024 social media FAFSA contest. This contest will help promote regional FAFSA completion, FAFSA events and encourage early FAFSA submissions.

Contest: High school seniors participate in the contest by helping promote FAFSA completion and FAFSA event registration among their classmates. Those who participate will be given the opportunity to win COTA event passes for NASCAR, MOTOGP Redbull Grand Prix of the Americas or COTA’s Formula 1 United States Grand Prix. Students from participating high schools within the Austin Metro area will be categorized into three groups based on their home campus size. Winners will be randomly selected based on campus FAFSA event registrations, event attendance, campus FAFSA completion rates, and Instagram activity promoting FAFSA completion/FAFSA registrations. Students selected as winners may be eligible to win a $2000 scholarship based on their social media efforts to support FAFSA completion on their campus. All participants must fill out the contest entry form to include personal and school contact information to allow for follow-up if selected as a winner.

How to Enter: To qualify, students must complete the following actions:

  1. Fill out the contest entry form with your information

Register for a FAFSA completion event on your campus here *If an event is not hosted on your campus, please indicate that on the contest entry form above.

   2. On Opportunity Austin’s Instagram post featuring the “FAFSA: Fast-track to COTA” contest:

  • Tag three friends in your graduating class
  • List the name of your school
  • Add the hashtag #FAFSAFASTTRACK

   3. Complete your FAFSA application

To Win Students Must:

  • Encourage classmates on their campus to sign up for financial aid events and generate the largest amount of Instagram comments and FAFSA completion for their campus.
  • Complete all requirements listed above, complete their FAFSA application, and submit proof of completion to your school counselor if selected as a winner.

Announcement of Winners:

Initial round of winners will be announced:

  • March 20th - NASCAR passes
  • April 10th - MOTGP Red Bull Grand Prix of the Americas
  • May 20th - Formula 1 United States Grand Prix.

*All participants must abide by contest rules and ensure that they adhere to their campus or ISD’s social media protocols/guidelines.
